The beautiful California Central Coast is a poetic and magical spot to get married. Whether your dream is to celebrate in a rustic barn surrounded by sparkling lights and lots of character or to feel the sand between your toes with a beachfront ceremony, you can find it all right here on in San Luis Obispo County.
As a professional wedding staffing and bartending company, we have the unique privilege of working at numerous locations. It was difficult to narrow down our top picks for 2020 to only ten because there’s so many delightful and stunnings venues to choose from and trust us, no matter where you end up, you can’t go wrong: The Central Coast has top-notch wedding venues.
Our goal with this list is to share with you the venues that will be highly sought after, the venues that are always favorites of guests and vendors because they offer excellent accommodations and “extras”, and to highlight the very best “up and comers” and more tucked away spots that you may not have heard of…yet.
And so, without any further ado…here’s our top ten Central Coast wedding venues for 2020:
Why we like this venue: The site of a historic 46 acre ranch in Templeton, 1800 El Pomar is a newer wedding venue with a ton to offer. The ceremony site is held in a beautiful open vineyard, surrounded by the oak trees and rolling graceful hills that make Paso Robles famous.
The property features an iconic aged redwood barn with a built-in bar on the side of the barn that’s adjacent to their 7000 sq. ft. grass reception area. There’s also a quirky fun three-story tank house and other original ranch buildings that your photographer will definitely utilize and appreciate on the property.
But the coolest features is that when you choose 1800 El Pomar you also have access to ‘The Farmhouse,’ a newly renovated 4 bedroom and 2 bath estate that sleeps 12. Their venue package includes a complimentary two night stay at The Farmhouse, making it easy for you, your wedding party, or your family to get ready before the event and have a spot to crash afterwards.
Personally we love their walk-in cooler and designated prep area that helps us and your caterer job easier, and our bartending team always appreciates their awesome built-in bar. These little touches equals happy guests!
Why you’ll love this venue: Two words: It’s stunning!
Trust us, your photographer will be thrilled with the site and you’ll treasure the pics they snap at 1800 El Pomar. There’s so much to take advantage of on this charming rustic (but modern) site!
Their Venue Package includes two nights in the Farmhouse, access to all their stunning furnishings, fun signage, heaters, and tables and chairs for up to 200. Choosing this venue will save you a ton of money in rentals and most couples decide to host the rehearsal dinner here as well (saving you more money).
From a practical standpoint, 1800 El Pomar is only a few easy minutes from the 101 Freeway between Atascadero and Paso Robles. It’s easy for your guests to find and it has plenty of room for parking. The site is handicap accessible with luxury restrooms on-site, and offers capacity for up to 200 lucky guests.

Why we like this venue: Allegretto Vineyard Resort is Paso Robles premier and first full service resort. It’s also the perfect spot for unforgettable weddings and celebrations.
Situated on 20 acres of walkways, manicured Mediterranean gardens, orchards of olives and grapes, with stunning architecture and a stash of curated art that makes guests gasp, Allegretto is far more than a simple resort. It’s a sanctuary that evokes beauty, warmth, and heart.
The venue is well-designed for events, and our team has experience with their multiple spaces and setup. Their event team is a joy for vendors and for couples to work with; they are professional and knowledgeable.
But we can’t deny, how art and history collide at Allegretto brings out a luxurious and unmatched experience for all. Your photographer will explode in joy with ideas, because everywhere you look there’s rustic Tuscan and European flair to see and take in.
The entire hotel interior and the grounds are charmed by artisan touches. It’s hard to fully express the visual delight that is Allegretto Vineyard Resort until you can see for yourself.
Why you’ll love this venue: The beauty of Allegretto is there are multiple special spaces on the property, allowing you to curate your dream wedding day that’s unlike anyone else’s.
For smaller weddings, you can say your vows in their French inspired non-denominational Abbey chapel, or if you prefer a more traditional outdoor ceremony, they have the stunning Olive Orchard surrounded by Paso’s hills and vineyards.
From their 4000 sqft Veneto Ballroom that can accommodate 290 guests and is the perfect reception space, to their breathtaking Piazza Magica, an Italian-inspired outdoor courtyard with over 12,000 square feet of space, you truly have all the options your heart could desire. (And be sure to ask them to point out the Romeo and Juliet tunnel, which yes, is as romantic and dreamy as it sounds.)
To top it off, the events and wedding team at Allegretto Vineyard Resort are truly top-notch. Read any reviews online about Allegretto and you’ll hear over and over how attentive and responsive they are. They are one of our most treasured accounts here at Central Coast Party Helpers.
Because Allegretto is a feature rich resort, rather than a traditional venue, you’ll appreciate that their wedding packages include deeply gratifying experiences, from spa treatments and manicures to a stylish brunch the day after.
If you have a lot of guests who have to travel, if they choose to stay in one of Allegretto’s 171 rooms, they will not only attend your wedding, but also have a vacation at Paso’s premier resort.
If an unforgettable wedding and experience for yourself and your guests is important, we highly recommend Allegretto Vineyard Resort. Regardless of your budget, reach out to their team. They are accommodating professionals, and will strive to work with you to make your dream come true.
2700 Buena Vista Dr, Paso Robles CA 93446
Why we like this venue: The White Barn is a darling family-owned venue that can handle up to 500 guests that’s tucked away in the Southern countryside of San Luis Obispo, in Edna Valley. The focal point of the property is their, you guessed it, stunning white barn; a 5,500+ sqft affair that’s stunning, magical, and highly sought-after here in SLO County.
Many of the barn and outdoor venues in SLO County have a western/rustic vibe, and don’t get it twisted, we are a huge fan of that aesthetic too. The White Barn however differs a bit from that countrified recipe; the inside of their barn is gorgeous boho vintage with high ceilings and redwood walls, whereas the outside of the barn and rest of the venue feels like it belongs to an iconic country club.
The result? An elevated venue that’s oozes class, but still has that authentic and down to Earth vibe we expect from little ol’ SLO County.
Add in the fact the property is surrounded by lucious rolling hills, is immaculately groomed with lots of green, and that all of their wedding package includes a two-night stay in their delightful guest farmhouse, and The White Barn is a stellar choice for anyone’s dream wedding.
We always appreciate the venue’s dedicated catering kitchen, where we and the caterer can prepare your appetizers and meals for speedy and professional service. They also provide a great setup for cocktail hour and have lots of space for our bartenders to do their magic.
Why you’ll love this venue: There’s so much added value when you choose The White Barn. As mentioned above you get to use their incredible 5,500+ sqft barn, which can seat 300, and their property has multiple outdoor spots available. It’s easy to have a thoughtful plan for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and then the dinner and reception with all that space available on the property.
On top of that Alicia and her team provide you with day-of parking attendants (and there’s lots of ample parking available, including ADA parking), security, luxury restrooms, rehearsal time the day before the event, and the site is 100% yours from morning until 10pm.
The Farmhouse is a 3 bed/2 bath home with a fenced yard, bbq, and firepit and if you get married at The White Barn you get a two nights stay there as part of their package. But if you need more space, The White Barn has you covered as there are 3 other houses on the property that are available too.
(Trivia time: One of the ranch homes on the property that you can stay in was originally built by Ernie Ball of Ernie Ball Guitars. It was his personal retreat and if you’re lucky enough to stay there, you’ll find it’s spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a great baby grand piano inside. Any guitar and rock aficionado would be honored to stay in the home of this legend!)
One of the perks of having your wedding in the Edna Valley region of San Luis Obispo is you are only 6.5 miles away from downtown SLO. Believe it or not, Pismo Beach and the Pacific Ocean are even closer!
But the true beauty of Edna Valley is it feels like it’s miles from any city hustle and bustle. Edna Valley is picturesque and charming, with wineries dotting the landscape every few miles. We think between its prime location in the heart of Edna Valley, the iconic barn that we guarantee will delight everyone who attends (and your Instagram pics will be beyond dreamy), and all of the amazing amenities and extras that the White Barn events team provides with their packages, saying “I do” at The White Barn is a no-brainer.
217 Green Gate Rd, San Luis Obispo CA 93401 *By appointment only
Why we like this venue: This historic 160 acre Spanish ranch and estate is pure luxury and it’s just a few minutes away from San Luis Obispo in the lovely Edna Valley coastal wine region.
La Lomita Ranch currently can accommodate up to 400 guests within its three outdoor areas: the Plaza, Oak Courtyard, and Terrace. Each of these three charming spaces are full of character with high-end furniture and unique Spanish old-world design elements, lots of mature trees and soothing foliage, and the venue even has it’s very own private lake.
There’s a horse stable that’s beyond chic and classy. We aren’t kidding when we declare that you should host either your rehearsal or wedding dinner in their barn. It will wow your guests; the barn itself really is that nice.
Oh, and did we mention there’s a fire pit and Spanish water fountains too? La Lomita Ranch is pure class.
On top of that, La Lomita Ranch is currently constructing a new indoor Pavilion set to open in spring 2020 with capacity for up to 299 guests indoors. The Pavilion will have traditional Spanish styling with modern conveniences and we can’t wait to see the finished result.
Why you’ll love this venue: La Lomita Ranch is definitely one of the best high-end venues here on the California Central Coast. It is on par with the best spots in Santa Barbara, Montecito, and Santa Ynez but it tucked away in our backyard here in relaxing San Luis Obispo.
In addition to the venue itself, La Lomita Ranch has eight truly luxury suites that can accommodate up to 24 guests on site, including a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home (called the Hacienda) and a separate set of seven deluxe Spanish suites called La Posada (the Inn).
You’ll love that La Lomita Ranch has multiple packages available. There’s a full ceremony and reception package, that gives you day use of the facility, to a once-in-a-lifetime two-night wedding weekend package that allows you to accommodate up to 24 lucky guests on site.
There’s also a limited amount of micro-wedding packages for up to 25 guests that’s all-inclusive and quite reasonable if you are having a small intimate wedding.
If you’re looking to host an unforgettable wedding that would make any Kardashian jealous, La Lomita Ranch has it all. Your guests will have a wonderful time admiring the beauty of this plush venue, and you’ll be surrounded by beautiful architecture and design at one of the finest venues in San Luis Obispo County. Kick off your marriage in both luxury and style at La Lomita Ranch.
1985 La Lomita Way, San Luis Obispo CA 93401 *By appointment only
Why we like this venue: Family owned and operated, Riata Ranch is a 1200 acre property that can accommodate both small and large weddings with ease. It’s one of the newest venues in SLO County, and it needs to be on your list for 2020.
The property is only 5 minutes from Santa Margarita, making it a quick trip from either San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles for your guests. We love how quiet and peaceful it is when you’re there, but it’s still easy to find and has lots of parking.
The property includes a 4500 sqft Ranch House that is available to rent and can sleep 12. The Ranch House includes a stunning pool, a professional chef’s kitchen (fun idea: Hire a chef for your rehearsal dinner to cook in-house and keep it extra intimate and special by hosting at the Ranch House), a wrap-around porch, many outdoor entertainment extras, and four roomy bedrooms.
Why you’ll love this venue: Instead of a barn, Riata Ranch has flipped the script and have two of these amazing grand Nordic tipis in their outdoor entertainment area…and let us just say, these tipis are EPIC.
From a practical standpoint the tipis will keep up to 200 guests in the shade and protect from rain, but they are so incredible and unique your guests and photographer will be in awe. The entire outdoor area is beyond gorgeous, surrounded by an olive grove with bistro lights intermixed to make something special.
The groom (or maybe the bride…) will also enjoy their vintage Airstream “Groom Quarters” that’s just a hop and skip from the party.
Riata Ranch offers various packages depending on your needs. If you want a ranch or barn wedding, but also crave a spot that’s a bit different, then Riata Ranch is the venue for you. Act now before they book out, because we have a feeling they’re going to be very popular in 2020.

Why we like this venue: While technically not in San Luis Obispo County, we still had to count Presqu’ile Winery in our list because it’s one of our favorite sites to work, and the brides are always super pleased with the entire experience. Presqu’ile (pronounced press-KEEL) translates to ‘almost an island’ and when you’re there, you feel as if you are a special private island away from the rest of the outside world. (Ahhhhh….)
We adore how the site has these meticulously curated spaces (and most have a glimpse of the Pacific ocean in this distance — you really will feel like you’re on an island!). Presqu’ile also has a dedicated Events Team, including wonderful coordinators, that works closely with you (and with us) to make sure nothing is dropped and all vendors are on the same page.
We also enjoy working in their professional kitchen that makes it easy for my team to do prep plates and clean quickly and professionally.
Why you’ll love this venue: Okay, we know you’ll love the scenery and the venue itself really is stunning…
But we’ve been told that even better than all of that is their WINE.
Your guests will be asking you for MONTHS where they can buy the Presqu’ile Rosé or Syrah. (You might as well budget in how to make a bottle of their wine your wedding favor, if you ask us.)
In addition to their outstanding selection of local wine, the venue is a favorite of brides because it has multiple spaces on their 200 acre property and can accommodate just about however many guests you have on the list. AND they can host weddings year round because they have numerous indoor and outdoor sites on the property. In fact, they will actually close their main tasting room for your event (depending on your package) as they can move customers to another area — it’s that roomy and thought out.
There’s a reason that Presqu’ile has won Wedding Wire’s Couples’ Choice Awards and why we included them here even though they are technically in Santa Barbara County (but just barely). Between their wonderful staff whom always go above and beyond, the epic beauty of their site, and their incredible selection of award winning wine — we think that Presqu’ile is the perfect little island nestled in right here on the Central Coast for engaged couples to celebrate the biggest day of their marriage.

Why we like this venue: Halter Ranch is one of the most iconic wineries on the Paso Robles wine trail and it’s one of premier spots for weddings in North County San Luis Obispo. It’s located in the oak-studded hills of Westside Paso Robles (Adelaida district) which is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Paso.
We guarantee you will be wowed the moment you enter onto the property. It’s truly magnificent and high class with the perfect combination of rustic and modern. Halter Ranch is a large working ranch and includes multiple covered and uncovered, indoor and outdoor, options for your wedding including their grand historic barn from the 19th century, a remodeled funky vintage Silo Barn with tons of character, multiple stunning open ceremony sites if you want to bring it outdoors (including their lovely wooden bridge that brides gush about), and multiple on-site accomodations and stays that can accomodate your family and friends in style.
The Halter Ranch team of professionals are knowledgeable, responsive, and they know how to cater to your specific needs. We always enjoy working with them as they keep us well-informed and their venue makes it easy for us to serve you to our fullest capacity with their wonderful catering kitchen and private areas to prep food.
Why you’ll love this venue: The property is grand with their numerous elegant/rustic event spaces to choose from. As one bride stated, “It’s so naturally beautiful, you don’t need to add much in the way of decor.” and that’s one of things you’ll love: The site will save you money on both decor and with their on-site kitchen and catering.
And if their picturesque property doesn’t sell you, the Halter Ranch wine surely will. Their Ancestor is a delight for special occasions, and they are known for their pinks and reds. Also a little known fact: Halter Ranch is known for their conservation efforts and environmental stewardship; they are SIP certified.
Because Halter Ranch is a winery that’s available to the public, you can easily make it a tradition to stop by on anniversaries or to celebrate other important milestones. The Halter Ranch team truly appreciates their guests and you’ll leave as part of their family, always welcome and taken care of.
There’s a reason that Halter Ranch won the WeddingWire Couple’s Choice Award, and we absolutely know you’ll love your wedding day if you choose them.
8910 Adelaida Rd, Paso Robles CA 93446
Why we like this venue: Peaceful lake? Check! Stone bridge? Check! Working Vineyard? Check! Convenient bridal suite on-site? You guessed it: CHECK.
Terra Mia is an incredible venue that we feel checks all the boxes a Central Coast bride could desire. Tucked away a few miles West of Paso Robles on 30 groomed to perfection acres, Terra Mia offers a unique North County wedding experience with its relaxing lake, vineyard surroundings, and majestic weeping willows. The property includes two large terraces on each side of the lake, making it the perfect open space for a unique outdoor wedding.
From a practical standpoint, you and your guests will appreciate its well lit parking area (they even have three Tesla charging stations!), his and hers restrooms, and the fact it’s only two miles off the 101 Freeway. Owners Rich and Tracy are always wonderful to work with and are always improving the venue and it’s amenities.
And we appreciate that their catering pad is fully serviced with all the power, water, and propane we need to serve your guests in a professional and timely manner.
Why you’ll love this venue: Terra Mia is a three-time winner of the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Awards and couples regularly RAVE about the venue and their experience with the owners. The landscaping and design of their property is incredibly thoughtful, and the Tuscan notes and elements are unique for the Central Coast.
While their lake and adjacent beaches are always crowd pleasers, you’ll also adore their amazing amphitheater. It’s a great choice for your ceremony and stunning. There’s also the “Barrel Room” that’s the perfect choice for a cocktail lounge and to hold the cake cutting/dessert. Terra Mia also has an amazing dance floor with bistro lights strung up all ready to go.
But the best part is, when you book the event — it’s yours. It’s a private “smaller” venue compared to some of the larger spots, and that comes with some perks. For instance, you will have access to their renovated Bridal Suite for the entire weekend when you book Terra Mia. It’s so convenient to have a dedicated spot on site to prepare (and your bridesmaids will feel pampered).
Terra Mia is an inspired choice for any couple that appreciates the fine details and loves supporting a family owned and operated venue. Definitely keep this special wedding oasis on your list!

Why we like this venue: Nestled within the rolling hills of Templeton is a spectacular new 26 acre venue called Transcendent, and we’re telling you: Once word gets out, this is going to a highly sought after spot! This is a special property where every single detail, from their gorgeous barn down to the magical antique door (that’s imported from India) on the the main house has special touches that have been purposefully chosen to maximize your delight and pleasure.
Quite simply, the property is pure magic!
Transcendent features a gorgeous open and rustic barn that’s perfect for your reception, with lots of room for dining and dancing. We love the barn because it has a great bar built into it, and we have a secluded spot to prep food and clean-up that’s out of sight from the guests, but also gives us easy access to everyone and everything. The owner, Robert, is also a joy to work with! He’s helpful and always open to suggestions from all.
We think the coolest feature the Transcendent venue has is their custom labyrinth that looks like it’s straight out of Sunset magazine. We’ve seen clever couples line chairs throughout the labyrinth’s maze to create a one-of-a-kind ceremony experience for their guests. Who needs an aisle with the traditional “bride’s side” versus “groom’s side” atmosphere? Think outside of the box…and inside the Labyrinth!
(It’s also a great spot for those coveted “first look” moment between the bride and groom as you can see in the slideshow below.)
Why you’ll love this venue: The views are out of this world.
The property is lined with gorgeous full oak trees that provide lots of shade in the summertime, and the property has these amazing hilltops facing the West where you can capture the perfect sunset photos during “golden hour.”
Instagram will love the photographs your photographer captures. One of the highlights is definitely the stunning main door (an imported antique door from India) with it’s powerful old world charm and feel. Honestly, there’s so many charming details at this site, you have to see it to believe it.
Transcendent also has lots of room for your guests to enjoy and mingle, including an oak tree patio where a band can setup, as well as the Barn and Labyrinth mentioned earlier. It’s a spacious venue with room for upwards of 300 guests and plenty of room for parking.
The fully renovated and chic 3000 sqft main house with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths is available to rent as well, with room for up to six guests comfortably. When you’re tired of partying and celebrating, rent the main house and mozy on down to call it a night. (Or impress the in-laws and put them up for a couple of secluded and magical nights. We hear the stars are amazing out there!)
While Transcendent is a bit off the beaten path, if you appreciate privacy from all the city lights and hustle, we don’t think you can find a more intimate spot for your wedding than here and that’s why it made our list for 2020. Definitely add Transcendent to your to-do list, and drop that deposit soon before word gets out and they are booked solid for 2020!

P.S. – Their website is lit and a joy to peruse, with tons of character on every page. (They even have a 3-D tour of the venue on their weddings page.) Definitely check it out and we dare you to not smile. Well played, Tooth & Nail. Well played!
3090 Anderson Rd, Paso Robles CA 93446
